dewalt dw660 ir led holder or end-cover for mpcnc

If you detach the lower part of the DeWalt DW660, the circular piece fits on the end to keep dust out. To measure rotation speed from reflection off the collet nut, you can mount an infrared LED emitter and detector in place. Use one or the other, not both. I secured the LEDs with a glue gun. I applied aluminum duct tape to one side of the collet nut. The other sides of the collet nut are painted black with acrylic paint. A drawing of the circuit used is attached. Instead of an Arduino, you can connect that lead to a voltmeter while positioning the LED, as it reads close to 5V without IR light and about 0.2V with IR light (hold up aluminum tape as a reflector). The infrared LEDs were ordered from: https://www.amazon.com/Gikfun-Infrared-Emitter-Receiver-Arduino/dp/B01HGIQ8NG/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_147_bs_lp_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=3050Q44NS6467GYR1T1N
