Dewalt Drill or Driver Mount
thingiverse
Hey everyone! I created this holder for my DeWalt drills and drivers after getting frustrated with what was available online. While there are some great designs out there, none of them were optimized for 3D printing. One design I tried to print had so many twists and turns that it looked like a joke, requiring way too much time and effort. No matter how I oriented the model on my print bed, it would likely have become unstuck. I also didn't want a holder with storage space for batteries, as they're always either on the charger or in the drill. To minimize wasted space, I kept the mounting wings within the radius of the holder so you can easily line them up without taking up too much room. Here's my quick alternative design - keep in mind that I'm no expert! I aimed to make it simple, offer multiple mounting options, and avoid requiring supports or a brim. I printed mine with the small end facing down on the bed, letting the flat parts bridge freely (although you can add supports if necessary). This holder is designed to be mounted from underneath, giving you access to your screwdriver through holes in the design. You also have two slots that fit 3030 aluminum extrusions, allowing for a low-head M6 screw mounting option. I've included the step file so feel free to take it and make it even better or adapt it to suit your needs - maybe even modify it for 2020 extrusions! I'm excited to see what you all come up with.
