The original version was seemingly more suited to a 20V battery. Not to say that my 12V remix fits like a glove, it doesn't but it fits OK. I didn't like the brass contacts of the original so I bought a drill battery to Power Wheels adapter for a few bucks to harvest the contacts, the wires and the fuse holder. You can find them on Amazon etc. In my pictured print I just chopped giant holes in the battery compartment with the side of a drill bit. Don't do that. I have fixed it in the model included. I did however fill a lot of the rear contact area with hot glue which I think you should do. As well as the area where the wires poke through the box. You can see in the pictures I added a little glue to the far edge of the "sled," to try to make it more weather resistant. Don't bother. I ripped the rear cover entirely from the original maker with no changes. My sled printed a little out of square so I needed to use a file to make the cover fit the enclosure.
