Dew heater controller mounting bracket for Celestron CPC 9.25"
thingiverse
I am using the Celestron-brand dew heater ring on my CPC 9.25" telescope but did not want to spend ridiculous $$$ on their heater controller when this $80 dumb controller works just fine. Mounting it to the scope's round barrel when it was flat just didn't seem wise. The telescope has two holes and screws already, presumably for attachments, so I designed around those. The Pegasus Astro Dew Zap fits very snuggly in the bracket, and as an added bonus, the telescope fits in my JMI hard-shell rolling box with the controller mounted to the tube. In case you stumble upon this dew heater solution for your telescope, I have found that this controller/ring combination consumes a maximum of 1.5Ah from my battery. NOTE: I'm just an armchair CAD technician and I'm learning as I go, so when you print this, you will wind up with a small flashing inside the counter sunk holes. This can be trimmed off with a razor and has no bearing on fitment. I printed this in Overture PLA with it lying on its side and only needed support for the screwdriver-access slot on the top.
