Devo Energy Dome

Devo Energy Dome

This is a Devo Energy Dome! Based on ancient Mayan principles, its stepped, ziggurat form focuses the universe's Chi energy into the user's brain, creating perfect synergy between left and right hemispheres. This harmony allowed Devo to create their iconic 80's hits. At full size (9.5" diameter), this print is substantial. It took about 24 hours on my delta printer and used approximately 16m of filament. The print supports itself when printed normally, thanks to the inside slope that maintains horizontal steps. I printed mine with a raft because the dome's bottom edge is thin; this precaution ensures it adheres firmly to the bed throughout the long print process. The typical human head is more elliptical than circular. To ensure a secure fit, I added squishable rubber foam strips on the inside of the hat that allow it to be snugly fitted onto the wearer's skull. This feature keeps the dome firmly in place during intense movements or whipping episodes. This design is parametric and can be customized to meet individual requirements. Note: This is not OpenSCAD; it's a program written in Go. The main library and code examples are available here: https://github.com/deadsy/sdfx About Go: https://golang.org/
