Development of a 10-Bed Ward Ventilator to Treat COVID-19

We are facing a harsh reality today as more and more people succumb to Covid-19 and prolonged isolation continues to break the chain of transmission. Pneumonia-induced coma requiring ventilator assistance is an all-too-common condition with no cure in sight. We're not going to take it lying down; instead, we're going to push for development and breakthroughs that will give every patient access to top-notch facilities and ventilators that can handle at least 10 patients simultaneously. Ventilator operations involving a capacity of 10 patients necessitate a mechanism to adjust the frequency of respiration for each individual. Each patient has unique respiratory needs, which demands an adapter that can be precisely tailored to meet their requirements. In some cases, the ventilator must work in tandem with conventional equipment, while others may require adjustments to accommodate varying breathing patterns. This technology is not only a viable option as a ventilator adapter but also as a vacuum suction pneumonia adapter, particularly for patients who suffer from Covid-19-induced pneumonia, which often requires fluid suction in the lungs. By harnessing a blower for exhaust, an air section chamber operated by a BLDC motor and fan, and a medical magnetic valve solenoid that is safe, electrically controlled, and monitored, this system can be implemented at an affordable price point. The design philosophy behind this adapter emphasizes compatibility with low-accuracy parts, modularity for easy servicing, and the use of standard commodity parts wherever possible. The scalable design allows it to cater to large numbers of patients, while minimizing the risk of cross-contamination by maintaining a positive pressure system throughout. To ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness, we aim to utilize large, low-stress industrial components with long service lives, prioritize ambient air, and opt for non-standard parts that can be produced en masse at an affordable price. Our goal is to create tools that are not only useful but also accessible to those who need them most.
