The Deutsche Bundesbahn commissioned 3 types of 4 axle Umbauwagen. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umbau-Wagen_(DB)

I have setup a modular design of half carriages. This makes it easy to create the other types of 4 axles Umbauwagens.

Using this approach results in parts that are small enough to be printed on the 300 x 300 mm bed of a Creality CR-10 printer. There aren't a lot of printers around with the build space for complete carriages.

The BD4yg consists of a second class half carriage and a luggage compartment.

Combining 2 second class sections makes a B4yg.

An AB4yg is a combination of a first class and a second class section.

The interiors are converted from HO scale: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2799058.

Holes are provided for screwing the walls and floors to 10x10 mm brass angle profiles with M2 screws.

Connect the roof to the floor with M4 threaded rods.

My Minden Deutsch Leicht bogies will fit.

Important note: This project will not be updated/improved/modified.

Print Settings

Printer:

Creality CR10

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.1 mm

Infill:

22%

Filament:

12-3D Print PLA

Green/Black

Notes:

When the modell is exposes to direct sunlight, the PLA can deform due to the heat. A better filament might be needed to avoid this.(PETG, HIPS, Etc.)

Post-Printing =============

All parts are glued with cyano-acrylate (super-glue). Some brass angle profiles are glued is for stability and to attach the coach to the chassis with some M2 bolts.

Please contact me for more detailed assembly instructions.

How I Designed This

Designed using TinkerCad. It's basically a collection of simple shapes.

I'm aware this design is not 100% accurate. I didn't count all the rivets and bolts. Some of the smaller, insignificant details, are excluded from the design

It was always my intention to create a design that shows the essential features of these carriages.
