The Deutsche Bundesbahn commissioned 3 types of 4 axle Umbauwagen, which are now easily created using a modular design of half carriages. Using this approach results in parts that are small enough to be printed on the 300 x 300 mm bed of a Creality CR-10 printer. There aren't many printers around with the build space for complete carriages. The BD4yg consists of a second class half carriage and a luggage compartment, making it an efficient combination of two essential features. Combining 2 second class sections makes a B4yg, while an AB4yg is a combination of a first class and a second class section, offering passengers a choice of comfort levels. Update 02SEP2018: The fit and dimensions of all parts have been corrected, ensuring a precise assembly. The interiors have also been updated from HO scale to create a more realistic experience. Coupling rods are now published, allowing for smooth connections between carriages. Additionally, 2.5 mm holes have been added to the floor and walls at a distance of 40 mm, making it easy to mount the walls to the floors using M2 screws and a brass angle with M4 thread @ 40 mm disctance. M4 mounting screws are now available, along with corresponding 4.1 mm holes in the floor and 3.5 mm holes in the roof (threaded for M4). The floor has been modified to accommodate Minden Deutsch Leicht bogies, ensuring a smooth ride for passengers. Planned updates include generating files to mill the windows from plexiglass and adding seams between the panels in the roofs.
