Deus 2 Remote Case
thingiverse
This is an alternate case design for the Deus 2 remote. It consists of a mounting plate with small supports to hold the remote in place. A cover is attached to the plate using studs and thumb nuts. If desired, a sun shield can be attached to the cover with glue or double-sided tape to reduce glare on the remote’s screen. The supports are printed as separate items and then glued to the plate. The left hand and right hand plates angle the remote's display approximately 15 degrees toward the user's face. The straight plate aligns with the Deus shaft. There are also two styles of plates.....a solid plate and an open back plate. The open back plate saves a little weight and is the best choice for use with the remote's speaker.M3 x 10 mm long screws are glued into the cover to act as studs. The cover is secured with M3 thumb nuts. This method was chosen for simplicity over the use of M3 threaded inserts. The remote fits on the center support as shown in one of the photos. With the cover in place the remote will barely move. Attaching the antenna clip to the remote, even if the antenna is not installed, will secure it even more.If the antenna is wrapped around the Deus shaft, it can be routed through the lower hole on the right side of the plate. If the antenna is run inside the Deus shaft, it can be routed through the hole in the mounting plate stub. The plate is attached to the Deus shaft using M3 x 8 mm long sheet metal screws. Drilling 2 mm diameter pilot holes is recommended.
