Detolf extra shelf clips

I designed the clips to add more shelves to Ikea Detolfs because they do not allow extra ones naturally. These clips consist of four pieces and permit one additional shelf each. Each pair is utilized to connect a horizontal rod to the vertical rods accompanying the existing shelves.\nThe full circles are meant for the metal rods bought and cut (these create the horizontal rods on which glass shelves sit). They should have enough room for some wobbling, so an extra cut is included. The half circles fit snugly onto the vertical rods incorporated into Detolfs by design. I held them in place with JB Kwik glue, the same stuff coming out of red clips in my photo, and tested it to 15 lbs though I don't display that much.\nThis clip idea worked for me but its efficacy depends on purchased rods' make-up or construction, leading possibly to needing to enlarge (avoid cracks) or reduce size (rod fit). Based on rods made this way, the optimal size was what I achieved with this setup after multiple attempts; trying a smaller size produced several pieces that cracked while pushing rods through.\nThis piece prints best at 70% infill but the effect of less infill wasn't time-changing so it appears like minimal empty space is left inside. The printing resolution I employed is 0.3 mm. Printing support structures weren't required or needed; the setup is designed to avoid those during the print process.\nIn this clip set-up for a display shelf with 6-7 inch action figures, the spacing and position of each horizontal rod were carefully planned as follows:\nBetween 4.25 inches to 4.5 inches from top rod place one horizontal rod.\nBetween 5.25 and 5.5 below top place another.\nFrom bottom: place a third above at around 5.25 to 5.5 inch space.\nThe last step involves placing one below the first but not so close that clearance gets lost due to metal being cut and then attached; this allows room for each separate piece on their shelves while ensuring that nothing will hang from one shelf too much onto others (it has its advantages).
