The model is for participating in the sixth Higher Cup Undergraduate drawing contest, featuring a three-dimensional graphics package with editable and addable parts, all contained within compressed files including characteristics and parameters. The model serves as a great practice for learning Pro/ENGINEER (PROE). This vane pump operates through a double-acting mechanism, where the working volume is enclosed by the pump, stator, rotor, blades, and oil pan. It functions by changing the volume and driving the rotor and blades counterclockwise while they reciprocate within the slot. As the inner surface of the stator blades move from a small radius to a large radius, the closed volume increases, creating a partial vacuum that sucks in oil. Conversely, when the blade moves from a large radius to a small radius, the closed volume decreases, forcing the oil out. This rotor blade reciprocation within the tank completes two suction and discharge cycles of oil through two zones and two suction drain areas.
