This model includes 119,990 triangles for a highly detailed asteroid. It's fully UV mapped and textured, and tested in Unreal 4 VR editor on HTC VIVE with an average of 120fps using a GTX1070 graphics card. The asset works well even with older hardware like Intel Core i7-930 and PCIe 2.0 slot. It uses dynamic tessellation and PBR metallic/roughness shading model, with texel density that roughly corresponds to a 200-meter object viewable up to 0.5 meters away for high pixel density monitors. The asset is suitable for close-up viewing and can be used for animations and offline rendering. It includes OBJ and FBX import files, two 3ds Max files set up with default scanline and Octane Render 3, and an Octane shader with high texel density. The package also offers original UE4 asset map containing all necessary files, materials, blueprints, textures, skybox, and meshes (including 4K and 2K textures, normal maps, curvature map, AO map, height map, position map, world space normals, and thickness map). The asteroid material uses three texture assets with a simple add function for high detail. However, the tiled textures may produce noticeable seams in some areas, but adding triplanar projection nodes might increase GPU load without much gain.
