This is a model of the Austringer hand cannon from Destiny, with the "broken bird, to be healed" ornament, perfectly replicated for 3D printing. The original STL file was sourced from destinySTLgenerator.com and thoroughly repaired and resized to ensure optimal results. Careful consideration was given to sizing this model to 265mm long, a length that felt precisely right for a detailed print. To facilitate easy printing, I've included the repaired STL file as well as a split version, featuring both a left and right half - this allows you to experiment with different slicing options if desired. For the best results, I recommend printing the left and right halves with targeted support around key areas such as the sights and the distinctive "wire" feature on the side of the gun. Minimal support is required and cleanup should be straightforward. A note on the intricate details - the "dots" and numbers on the Austringer hand cannon are best achieved through painting, but I found it challenging to freehand them accurately. As a result, I created 3D printed numbers and dots, which were then glued onto the model and painted. The dots are embedded in a single layer of PLA for precision alignment - feel free to use these extras or explore alternative methods such as painting directly or using other techniques.
