Desktop Vise with M8 (5/16 inch) hex bolt
thingiverse
Like the solid base from this design by KDan (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1532740). But it uses a plastic screw and its slider can't go back with screw. Here I use a metal screw, also slider can move forward and backward when adjusting screw with a M8 locknut and slider_lockplate. Accordingly remix screwblock and knob to match M8 or 5/16 inch hex bolt. You may print140mm/155mm base if you need a bigger vise. Or print smaller version, 115mm base with a maximum jaw opening of about 50mm. Need about 15 hours to print all parts. Need materials: 1) 5/16inch nut (x2) 2) 5/16inch locknut (x1) 3) M3x20mm screw (x4) 4) 5/16inch x 3 inch bolt (x1) for 115mm base, OR 5/16inch x 5 inch bolt (x1) for 140mm /155mm base. 5/16inch bolt (US) = M8 hex bolt 5/16inch nut (US) = M8 nut 5/16inch locknut (US) = M8 locknut Nut and nut slot , bolt and locknut, bolt and screwblock, slider and lockplate fit tightly. So you need some tools including bar clamp, adjustable wrench, screw driver/allen key to assembly all parts together.
