Here is a DIY project that involves repurposing an eBay find, a $2 digital temperature and humidity display. I recently scored one of these for cheap on the popular online marketplace. The device, which looks like a miniature humidor, measures 4 inches in diameter and features a round black face with large, easy-to-read digits. A quick glance at the seller's description reveals that this gadget is designed to monitor the humidity levels within a cigar humidor, but I think it could be useful for a variety of other purposes. For example, you could use it to keep an eye on your home's temperature and humidity levels, or even as a tool for monitoring the environment in a greenhouse.
