Desktop Tablet Holder
thingiverse
This tablet holder for desk use is compatible with the "Tablet Holder for Bedside Hospital Tray" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4485223). It was designed for bedside use in hospitals but will work on any flat surface. All bolts used are 1/4 inch hex bolts. Use a soldering iron to heat up the nuts and melt them into the hexagonal holes. Print all parts as they are oriented, with supports as needed. The top and bottom supports of the tablet holder are oversized to accommodate tablets in cases and with protective covers. This is crucial for infection control in healthcare settings. Tablets can be held in either landscape or portrait orientation. The tablet holder slides easily on and off the tablet holder attachment, allowing tablets to be switched between different mounts. To assemble the tablet holder, use a 3/4 inch long bolt combined with the appropriate knob to attach and secure the top clamp. To assemble the desk stand, glue the halves of the desk stand together. CA glue works well. Use a 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 inch bolt and the appropriate knob to secure the tablet holder attachment (horizontal). Side-to-side swivel is not usually needed for a desktop mount, but if you would like to add this in, you can use the appropriate parts from "Tablet Holder for Bedside Hospital Tray" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4485223). There is a tight 0.2 mm tolerance between all hinge joints so friction will be minimized unwanted movement. File out the hinge surfaces if you would like it to move more freely.
