Desktop Organizer
thingiverse
My design of an overhanging organizer adds plenty of space to the user's desk while not taking up any space on the desk. This allows for more desk space for books, a computer, or any other studying materials. You won’t have to worry about a clutter of pencils with this design though since our extension also has an organizer atop and on the bottom. These organizers allow for you to store your pencils in the 2 main compartments, holding post-it notes in the side compartment, or you can even hold your odds and ends on the front tray all on the top organizer. This doesn't even account for the paper organizing compartments in the bottom organizer. I had many issues come up in our design throughout the designing process, but the overlooked problem throughout my whole project was that I was building it on a program that I had never used. If I could redesign something in this project I would make the mechanism to tighten the clamp onto the desk even easier to use, then it is now. 3-D printing would strengthen my device because it would allow me to find problems with my design, and it would allow me to redesign and Improve upon the design I have.
