Desktop Microphone Stand Socket Bushing
thingiverse
I needed a solution for my desk microphone. I designed a custom bushing that fits perfectly on my articulating mic stand. The upper flange is 1.25 inches in diameter, and the tube outer diameter is .75 inches, so you'll need a 3/4 inch and a 1.25 inch Forstner wood bit to drill out the hole. Make sure to leave it 1/16 inch proud above your work surface, or the stand will scratch or gouge your desk. This bushing can also be used as a desktop camera stand for blogging or filming. I included an extra bushing with a .51 inch mounting post, which is perfect for articulating magnifying lamps. The drill bit sizes and installation steps are the same as before. If you need a good microphone stand, I recommend checking out this adjustable microphone suspension on Amazon. For a camera stand, I suggest looking at this desktop camera stand on Amazon. If you want to see how it's installed, check out this YouTube video. Just fast forward to the 4:17 minute mark for the mic stand installation part.
