Desktop Marble Run

Desktop Marble Run

Basic components for a DIY desktop version of a vintage toy can be made using ballbearings from an old bike wheel, which are approximately 6.5mm in diameter, but any size between 6mm and 7.5mm will work just as well. To ensure the best results, print the pieces on their sides as shown in the photo, with supports enabled. While a lot of support is not necessary, it does make the final product fit together more smoothly. If your print is prone to messiness, you might need to clean up the tops of the pillars, but with proper slicer settings, this can be avoided. UPDATE December 2018 - A new component called Support Short has been added, allowing users to create stronger towers for their desktop toy.
