Desktop Lamp Base

Desktop Lamp Base

thingiverse

The desktop lamp holder is a piece that frequently gets damaged. Hopefully, this design will help both old and new desktop lamps get back in use! This design was made around a lamp purchased on Amazon; the small metal insert that fits into the holder has a diameter of 12.5 mm. The screw diameter is 5.5 mm, and it's at least 50.0 mm high. Let me know if you need different measurements. I'm planning to create the same design for the Ikea version of the Naska Loris desktop lamp as well. I'm open to suggestions and criticism on the design since it's always a work in progress. I really hope you like this design, and that your old (or new) lamps will continue serving you again. (Who doesn't love this lamp?) Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 30% Notes: I used a pretty high infill, but it should work with less too; the print is very solid. How I Designed This: Lamp Holder Design Inspiration I came up with this design by looking around on Thingiverse and seeing some really good solutions, but I wanted something round to match the lamp's circular base. And I also wanted it to be strong. Lamp Holder Modeling I modeled this using Autodesk Inventor; everything is parametrized, so making changes to the design is very easy for me. Custom Section: Customizable Holder I plan on learning how to make this design customizable so you can have more options in the future. In the meantime, don't hesitate to contact me if you need any changes. Thank you!
