Deskmade s44 balisong (butterfly knife)
thingiverse
This is a model of the benchmade 44s butterfly knife, showcasing my preference for creating knock-off names, which explains the title! A story lies behind this model: I shared this (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:36510) with my friend and immediately he sought to one-up me! He's obsessed with balisongs and envious of my 3d printing skills, but it's all in good fun; he's currently making one out of metal. Originally, I planned to create this model from steel as a counterattack, but after deliberation, I decided on a different design that could be produced more easily in metal. So, I optimized this one for 3d printing and wanted to share it on thingiverse. Without further ado, I hope you enjoy it! edit There's also a comb blade version of the blade to make it more functional. Post-Printing Instructions After printing two handle files and one blade file, assembling them is as simple as threading M2 bolts through the holes and securing them with nylon locknuts. Or, if you don't deserve to have a 3d printer, you're on your own! Kidding, but it should be that straightforward. Depending on how you print it, you might need to enlarge the holes on the blade; in that case, the bolts will easily thread into the plastic.
