Desk Organizer w/ Phone Holder

This desk organizer was made to help clean up desks and help students in Virtual School by being able to categorize pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, etc.. by their size and hold their phones up. On normal pencil holders, it can be easy to grab a pencil or ruler, but extremely difficult to grab an eraser. With this organizer, that will not be an issue. It also has a phone holder, where the phone can have its own place on the desk and not clutter up your desk. The phone can become a second screen, a clock, whatever it needs to be. My design at first did not have much more functionality than just holding stationary, this would not really help students with virtual learning much more than a normal pencil holder. Which is why I added a phone holder. If I were to design this again, I would find a better solution to attach the holders to the base. As it is right now, it is inserted into the base as a big square and held on by friction. I would change the shape of the insert to something that would have more surface area contacting the sides of the slots in the base to create a tighter and sturdier fit. 3D printing would allow me to create a prototype of my design where I would be able to flush out any glaring weaknesses, create more ideas to add to my design and in the end, it would allow me to just make a much better product. Creating the 3D model already helped me improve my design a lot, actually 3D printing the model would help an incredible amount.
