Problem: Students and teachers alike are finding that they are using common areas, like the kitchen table, as workspaces. This requires them to remain organized and still be able to clear the common area in preparation for activities like eating meals. This desk organizer has a couple functions. The first function is the the two drawers which allow for easy storage of school utensils when not in use. The second function is the laptop desk which can slide out and being used as an easy way to vent the bottom of a laptop to prevent from extra overheating. The third function is the top part which acts as a paper basket for storing notes and notebooks. The fourth function is a cup sorter that can come apart for easy shipping and storage. Some issues we came against while working on this was getting used to a new modeling software that we were not used to yet. If we could redesign this again, we would add more external tools/accessories. 3D printing would help strengthen our design as it would make it lighter compared to if it used other materials.
