Desk Mount For Hanging Lamp w/ Shade
thingiverse
I had to add a lamp above my desk, and I didn't want to hang it from the wall or ceiling. The flange mounts directly to my desk behind my monitor. Cutting the dowel rod in two, one piece should be longer than the other. Using the longest part of the flange for height and the shorter to angle out over the desk. You will need a 1/2" x 36" dowel rod, a hanging lamp cord, and an LED light bulb. I used leftover Spax #8 1 1/4" screws from another project so the flange is designed for them, but they should work with almost any screw. Note: Depending on your hanging lamp cord, you'll need a clip for round cable or flat cable. Also, avoid regular incandescent bulbs because of heat; use CFL bulbs that are less than 60 watts, and I recommend Great Value LED bulbs instead. Print the lamp shade with 0% infill, and everything else at 15-20%. This will work with my Pac-Man light shades or any lamp shade made with the Fusion 360 Lampshade Tutorial. I'm creating a ring for hanging lamp cords that are not threaded to prevent the lamp shade from sliding down onto the bulb. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: Printrbot * Printer: Simple Black * Rafts: Yes * Supports: No * Resolution: .1984 * Infill: 20 Notes: The flange doesn't need a raft, but all other parts do. Print the lamp shade on a raft with big end down and 0% infill.
