Desk Lamp Clamp
thingiverse
The enclosed files will enable the manufacture of three parts necessary for replacing a clamp on standard office spring arm lamps. Be advised that two sets have been provided, one tailored to accommodate a 5/16" hook bolt and another suited for a 1/4" hook bolt. Although the 1/4" option may suffice for newer light-duty lamps, I found the 5/16" option offered a better fit when used on a salvaged heavy-duty lamp. Due to my inability to locate L bolts with machine threads, a hook bolt was substituted and subsequently expanded by hammering it open in an attempt to approximate the dimensions of an L bolt. The nuts included come fitted within the triangular knob. For the most current update (a thicker outer edge at the nut) has been added for the 5/16" knob. To demonstrate appreciation for these designs, any assistance in the form of a donation would be greatly appreciated. Print Settings Rafts: Irrelevant to printing settings. Supports: No supports are necessary. Resolution: Low or Medium resolution will suffice. Infill: 20% infill is a sufficient choice. Notes: It is recommended that the shell thickness should be at least 2mm due to this part's structural function. Enhanced strength is realized through patterns and holes, rendering unnecessary an infill higher than 20%. A single overhang exists without necessity for precise positioning, yielding satisfactory results. The suggested filament of choice remains ABS for its notable strength properties.
