Compact Filament Spool Holder. I designed this spool holder primarily because I wanted to create one that suited my needs. This design features a small footprint, making it ideal for any workspace. The holder uses an 8mm threaded rod as its central component (which may require slight widening to ensure smooth assembly). To facilitate easier assembly on my prototype, I employed a 21/64 drill bit to enlarge the hole. To assemble this spool holder, you will need to print two side pieces of your choice, one or more bottom lengths, and two spool core pieces. Additionally, you will require an 8mm threaded rod and nuts/washers for secure assembly. If you have any ideas on how to improve this design, please feel free to share them with me. Important Note: The new components added to the design have not yet been tested or printed (side_4_piece, the reel with cutouts, and the bottom piece). UPDATE 26/01/2017 - New Spool created with cutouts and a larger center hole diameter of 9mm. New sides designed with a more visually appealing aesthetic look and cutouts. Increased rod hole diameter to 9mm for easier spool removal. Changed to a universal side piece, allowing you to adjust the holder's width to accommodate various spool sizes (including multiple spools). Print Settings: Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 20% Notes: For my prototype, I used 20% infill, which provided sufficient stability.
