Desk fan vase/spiral mode
thingiverse
The qualities of the "vase/spriral mode" print are known : * Fast to print and without support * Economical ( use only small amount ) But can you make a desk fan in this mode? The answer is yes, almost and it gives that. For use with : * a 120 mm fan ( noctua ) * a potentiometer * a switch (21mm) * power supply connector (8mm) * 4 screw ( for the fan and the support ) The interesting points of this construction are: * There are two ways to construct an object in vase mode * Let the slicer determine the walls (face*) * Help the slicer by building walls to the right size ( case ) * fixing system are possible in this mode ( facetop <> facebottom , face* <> case, case <> basement ) * To be more solid, the construction of 2 walls is the solution ( case ) * When building 2 walls, the effect of transparency lets the second layer be seen and in my case (lines) it's fun. * We can help the slicer to do what we want, for that it is sometimes necessary to help him to make good decision (gridbottom) Note, the voronoi effect on the faces is there to hide the change in type of printing when going from a linear print (main body) to two separate prints (side).
