Desk Extender Kit

I created this desk extender kit for my Ikea Desk http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S29932181/#/S29133599. My version is green, but it seems the online model no longer comes in that color. The board I used came from Home Depot - I simply selected particleboard with a smooth finish and had them cut it to 2 feet by 16 inches. You can make this extender as large or small as you need, just be sure to design your brackets accordingly. Next, screw the knob into place on the board. I use my desk extender daily because my work surface is usually cluttered with stuff. It's super handy for eating, filling out paperwork, and even holds a computer I built. If you're building one, consider using six brackets instead of four to get better alignment. Four works okay, but sometimes it's hard to find the back two when pushing the extender in.
