Desk Drawer v1
prusaprinters

This simple drawer is perfect to store all your (small) tools and belongings. Whether you want to store your tools for your 3D-printer, game controllers, external drives or a bunch of pens, stickers and cables; it all perfectly fits!

The assembly for one drawer consists of two sliders/rails and one drawer. The rails is symmetric, such that it can be used for both the left and right side. The slider and drawer are designed such that it has an end-stop in both ways, such that you can't pull the drawer completely out of the rails.

The drawer dimensions are approximately 170x160x80mm (LxWxH), to make it fit on the Prusa MINI. For now, only a drawer with a depth of 80mm is designed; drawer-80mm. I will add some larger and smaller drawers in the near future! On top of that, I will later include a middle rails, such that you can have multiple drawers next to each other more easily. For this, stay tuned!

Installation
In my case, the installation is done using double sided (3M) tape, which works perfectly. For this, use the file rails-tape.stl . If you would prefer a less subtle and more permanent fixture using screws, you can use the file rails-screw.stl .

The installation is really easy and pretty straightforward. Due to the end-stops, you can't first place the rails and later insert the drawer from the front. I started with fixing one rails in place, then I slid in the drawer from the side while holding the second rails to it (of course with the double sided tape already attached to it such that you can stick it to your desk). I then fixed this rails and drawer in place and 'voila', your installation is done.

Print instructions

The drawer is printed out of PLA on the Prusa MINI+, using a 0.4mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.25mm (Draft Quality) for a fast print. Since the drawer does not have much details, this is more than sufficient and it still looks perfect! The rails were printed with a 0.2mm layer height. Next time, I will try to print it using a 0.6mm nozzle to reduce print times even further.

The rails are printed without any support. For the drawer, I decided to add some local support (using brush tool in PrusaSlicer) in the opening in the front. This resulted in a nice print!
