Desk Counter
thingiverse
Remix from 3DCentralVA design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:738511 It's basically just a counter that can be used in all sorts of environments. I use these for board games, doing inventory, or just having a way to remember a certain value [I have a bit of short-term memory]. And having more than two dials allows me to track numbers greater than 2 digits. I included a center indicator so I wouldn't need the end caps making it a bit more compact and added a notch in the center of the dials so the center pin clicks into place making it easy to daisy-chain them together. In theory, you could make them as long as you want by simply making the center pin longer or shorter. I also included a closed version of the dials for those with OCD and don't want to see a hole on the end. I used a brim on the center pins but no supports are needed for the dials or indicators. All printed in the orientation they are in the STL files. The ones shown in the pictures were a quick and dirty print just to make sure all of the notches lined up. I may have had the speed a bit high causing some underextruding on some of the parts. Sizing the holes I used a .5 wall thickness making the holes slightly smaller than they needed to be, that's why I could take a microfile and adjust them to the tension that I prefer. I like having the indicator very snug. This allows the indicators to stay in place while I turn the dials but at the same time having the dials somewhat fitted so they don't spin freely. Edit: The notch within the holes are deeper, so this does not effect the way the pin clicks into place
