The chair I sit on is slowly sinking, just like yours was. To fix this problem, I use a desk chair aid or build one similar to it and label it as a remake. This device supports the chair at regular intervals of 1 inch when my hydraulic fails. It works really well. This thing was made with Tinkercad.
