(Design) FuzNuz Electric Fence Handle

A simple handle designed for 3D printing for a 14 gauge aluminum wire electric horse fence line is easy to create. Simply run the wire through the center of the handle, wrap the wire around the rear loop and then tie the line to the loop. Using a spring maker like this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1096880 helps craft the wire into a spring before attaching it to the loop, keeping tension in the wire on your gate. The wire fits inside the little groove in the front hook and makes a solid connection through your handle for a quick and easy 3D printed solution. For additional weather resistance, covering with a durable outdoor paint is recommended. Plastic degrades over time in the sun, but paint helps deflect or absorb radiation, causing less damage to the plastic. Printing the design with the loop on the bed, using rafts and support material keeps it in place. This challenging print requires some effort, but results in a hole running down the center without supports clogging it up. A good support system that uses branching support material with a wide raft is needed. If someone finds an upgraded .stl file with this support, they can share it to help future users avoid devising their own solutions. The design requires about 85 grams of ABS or 101 grams of PLA excluding supports for those interested in calculating costs. Those who follow my work may wonder why everything I create is bright yellow. There's a reason beyond personal preference: horses are dichromats, meaning they can't see objects with the wavelengths of light we perceive as red, but bright yellows are easy to spot. Additionally, every piece of horse equipment will eventually get lost in an open field and buried in grass, dirt and mud. Using yellow on equipment makes it easier to find when it's been misplaced.
