Desiccant Box V2 - NO SANDING
thingiverse
**EDIT: Updated to V2!** I've made some significant upgrades since I initially posted this project. New in v2: -Made slots slightly smaller to minimize the risk of broken beads falling out -Fixed slot spacing to be consistent on every face -Added a compact version **Original Summary Reborn** I embarked on a quest for a simple, rectangular desiccant box but my initial prints fell short. The first was too small and the second required excessive sanding. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and designed my own from scratch! It features a snap-on lid and no sanding is required. The large size absorbs moisture rapidly, allowing me to go longer between bake-drying my desiccant. The smaller size is perfectly suited for smaller enclosures and vacuum bags. If you print with ABS, you can bake-dry the desiccant directly in the box. I dry mine at 220°F (104°C) for several hours without any issues. However, if you're using PLA, it tends to sag slightly at this temperature. But if you dial back the heat and bake for a longer period, you should be okay. Another option is to transfer the beads into a pie tin for baking, then let them cool completely before putting them back in the box.
