I discovered that the cylinder in my previous design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3620185) was a challenge when trying to put the spools back into their storage plastic bags because it could fall all the way through. In this version, I've resolved that issue by adding a small flange to the bottom of the main body. Now, the cylinder slips into the spool core and the flange rests on the top edge - problem solved! I also print it in clear to make monitoring the condition of the color change desiccant beads much easier. This container is designed to fit easily inside the spool core hole, with slots all around for air contact. I've also included a core tube in the container to allow even more air contact on to the desiccant, and this serves to hold the thread in place to secure the lid. With this extra hole (12 mm diameter), the container can be mounted alongside the spool. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the printed one yet as I'm currently printing a batch that will take about 20 hours. If you'd like to see a smaller version, I've already uploaded that - here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3620171 If you're interested in getting your hands on the Fusion 360 file, I'm happy to share it with you upon request.
