This is a container designed to hold 3-5 mm desiccant beads. It's modeled after a dehumidifier I bought that was supposed to regenerate in six to twelve hours when plugged into power. However, I quickly discovered it wasn't properly regenerating even after a week. So, I created my own box to hold the same amount of beads and planned to regenerate them in the oven. This version is designed to open along the long axis just like the purchased part, which I disassembled to study its design. I eventually realized that this limited the container's ability to hold beads by half, as you'd expect.
