Desiccant Box (DryBox)
thingiverse
I designed this model to be shrunk by .75 from its original size, aiming to reduce print time, minimize desiccant usage, and make it physically smaller. To enhance airflow through the desiccant, I incorporated a central chamber and increased the number of holes. Both the lid and box were printed simultaneously on the build platform, resulting in a seamless fit with no need for cleaning. An update was made on 2017-09-16 to include a chamfer on the underside of the support ribs that hold the top of the center column, facilitating smoother printing. Additionally, an OpenE version with through holes was added to facilitate better air circulation and allow airflow when stacking multiple boxes. To ensure proper sealing, fill the box evenly with the inner supports at the top level, and the lid will secure both the inner and outer spaces. Never fill above the top of these rib supports.
