In this 3D model of a desert, the scene is crafted using 3ds Max 2015 software and rendered with V-Ray 3.60.03 for realistic visuals. The area depicted in the scene spans over 75x75 kilometers, making it ideal for high altitude areal shots. The geometry is created using layers, subdivided, and displaced for detailed terrain representation. Turbosmooth modifier can be used to adjust the polycount and level of displacement as required. Prior to subdivision, the model has a polycount of 819,200. V-Ray materials with included maps enhance the texturing, while a daylight system provides illumination, with shadows baked into the diffuse texture due to satellite images.
