"Der Skorpion" - Fan Duct for Geeetech A10M and A20M dual colour printers
thingiverse
Update 29.12.2018: Version 1.1 of Skorpion has been updated with a thicker duct mount and a shortened duct outlet to increase distance from the heater block. The cooling system on my A10M and A20M was not fully convincing, so I designed this part with several key concepts in mind: 1. Replace two 30mm fans for the hotend with a single more silent 40x10 or 40x20 Fan. 2. Improve cooling with a radial 5015 Fan. 3. Allow better visibility of printing progress. 4. Make it customizable. 5. Achieve a good-looking design. The BLTouch has X and Y offsets as follows: X= -38 mm Y= +10 mm Please consider showing your appreciation by leaving a TIP if you like this project. Thanks in advance. You will need the following parts to complete the Skorpion modification: Extra Parts: 1x Axial 40x10 or 40x20 for the hotend 1x Radial 5015 for the Fan Duct / Part cooling fan (Ensure it is compatible with your A10M and A20M's 24V system) Printed Parts: 1x Part A+B(left+right mount) + Part C(duct) + Part D(FrontBit) + Part E(BLTouch optional) 1x Recommended Hotend PCB Mount: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3195894 Mounting Bits: 4xM3x12 for carriage 2 M3 screws for carriage 4xM3x16 for hotend (BLTouch + Fan Duct) 4xM3x16 for Hotend Fan (for 40x10 fan), and 4xM3x25(for 40x20 fan) Remember, all modifications you make to your printer are at your own risk. I disclaim responsibility for any damages that may result from this modification. Special thanks go out to Eric Beirnes, Irene Wolters, Jarno de Jong, Johann Podina, Kevin Goethals, Sammie Spencer, David Petsel and Sven Beckum for their valuable input and design ideas.
