A depth micrometer is an accurate measuring tool employed by engineers to determine dimensions. With each ratchet turn, the spindle advances 0.5mm towards the bottom of a blind hole. The ensuing diagram illustrates the application of this depth gauge; rotate the ratchet counterclockwise until the spindle contacts the hole's base. Developed in SolidWorks 2012, visualized with KeyShot 4.
