Thanks to ruivaz for originally designing his "Woodworking marker." I took his design and modified it to make a depth gauge. I'm using it when making bowls and cups on a lathe to check the depth. It's modeled to fit a 30mm wide aluminum ruler with a cork backing (I purchased at Walmart for about a $1). The ruler thickness is 2mm so the body of the depth gauge has a slight lip to hold it in place without the knob. The knob can be tightened down to keep the depth gauge on a certain depth. I heated the plastic (I used PLA) to hold the bolt. I then heated the plastic and super glued in the nut from the bottom. I printed at 55% infill to keep it sturdy. It can fit bowls with a diameter of about 7 7/8 inches.
