The Händel Monument in Halle (Saale) is the only monument in Germany dedicated to the British-German Baroque composer Georg Friedrich Händel. It was there in 1859, as part of a grand community effort between Germans and Britons, implemented in commemoration of the artist's 100th death anniversary. Outside of Germany, two Händel monuments in London are well-known: Roubiliac's Händel monument for the Vauxhall Gardens from 1738 and Händel's grave monument in Westminster Abbey. In Paris, a Händel monument is located at the entrance foyer of the Opéra Garnier.
