Supporting Innovative Design Competitions \r\n \r\nNature-Inspired Geometry \r\nDendritas is a 3D-printed flower planter and household container that's part of a pioneering generative design research project exploring the intersection of art, science, and mathematics. Dendrites are a key component of Diffusion-Limited Aggregation, a fractal growth algorithmic model introduced by Witten and Sander in 1981, which produces forms commonly found in both living and non-living nature. These forms resemble certain corals, crystals, brains, tree roots, veins, and more. Dendritas made its debut at 'Santurce es Ley 5,' a prominent Puerto Rican art festival. Fabrication files include two STL files for two iterations, but due to the unique nature of the geometry generation process, each piece is one-of-a-kind. Unique iterations are available for purchase.
