Demo Lock v1 - Giant Cutaway Pin and Tumbler Lock for Teaching Lock Picking
thingiverse
This giant lock serves as an educational tool for teaching the art of lock picking or understanding lock mechanics. I printed one and donated it to Unallocated Space to aid their instructional efforts, and they've found it invaluable in their teaching endeavors. The lock features deliberate minor variations in pin cuts within the cylinder, measuring approximately 0.25-0.5mm. Although these differences are somewhat diminished at this scale, they remain present nonetheless. Initially designed in July 2017, I had planned to have the lock tested by my local TOOOL chapter and create an improved version 2 for release. However, a year passed, and I still haven't found the time to make the necessary revisions; despite this, the local TOOOL chapter has grown fond of the lock as is. In the future, I intend to create a version 2 that addresses various minor issues and enhances its functionality overall. Some photographs from 2017 can be viewed here: https://imgur.com/a/aUoJW
