To install this spool holder, it is mounted off the center of the DaVinci's rear panel, providing a straight path for the filament to follow. However, the top lid of the printer obstructs this path, necessitating removal of the lid or creating an opening to accommodate the filament. You have two options: either remove the top lid or create a hole in it to enable unobstructed filament flow. Removing the lid voids any existing warranty but can provide unhindered access for your 3D printing endeavors. In my setup, I chose to cut a section from the top lid, ensuring an opening through which the filament can pass while allowing the top-lid's full functionality in other instances. As part of this modification, I crafted additional support structures that reinforce the edges where the lid was compromised, providing added safety features for when it is raised during print runs. As such, you have two assemblies at your disposal: the Spool Holder itself and a separate component known as the Lid Edge. The latter serves to bridge gaps in the printer's design and safeguard against damage to either the filament spool or printer body while the top lid remains open, facilitating close monitoring of ongoing print operations. Considering using XYZ-Slicer to produce these parts yields optimal results when working within a 'Good' quality parameter (approximately 0.3mm) alongside removing rafting requirements other than support for the shaft. It is crucial that you maintain these guidelines, as failing to do so might lead to improper installation of key parts necessitating more rigorous measures to rectify. Upon receiving printed versions of each component part, inspect them for slight variations in fit. Slight expansion due to the printing process usually necessitates refinement before accurate interconnection can be secured between these distinct elements through precise trimming using files of suitable shape or cross-sectional dimensions as deemed fitting; similarly the round insides should receive attention. I applied acetone along with carefully manipulated metal clamps, adhering these parts effectively together to yield durable connections suitable for reliable use throughout 3D printing cycles.
