Deluxe Filament Feeder Guide for Lack Tables

Deluxe Filament Feeder Guide for Lack Tables

thingiverse

This is a low-friction snag-proof scratch-proof filament tube feeder guide for Ikea Lack tables. I aimed to create an optimized guide that will provide many years of hassle-free faithful service. I believe it's the best of its kind. Enjoy! (Note: The orange images show it to be a bit shorter than it actually is. Don't worry, it's designed for a good fit for Lack tables. The blue image shows a more accurate aspect ratio.) It features: * A low-angle curved filament entry "bowl" * A low-angle curved filament exit "bowl" * A knurled bottom nut to aid the tightening of the bottom to the top section. * A larger internal diameter feed tube to minimize physical contact with the filament * Snag-proof and scratch-proof entry, exit * Big enough flanges to conceal any drilling irregularities To print: 1. Make sure you print with 0.10 mm resolution, PLA or PLA+, with supports on the base only. Do not put supports everywhere, as supports are unwanted for the knurled part. 2. Once printed, cut off the excess support material and use fine sandpaper (e.g., 400 grit) to smooth out the entry and exit "bowls". 3. Make sure there are no burrs on the end of the top piece thread. To install: 1. Drill a 10mm diameter hole in the top of the tabletop, and a 14mm to 19mm diameter hole in the bottom of the tabletop. Ensure the hole centers line up as close as possible. 2. Insert the top section of this device labelled "top" into the top of the Lack table. 3. Insert the bottom section of this device into the bottom of the tabletop and screw it to the top section of this device.
