GENERAL These custom-designed parts are for the OpenBuilds Delta-Six printer project. The custom.zip file contains 123D Design files for customization and adaptation. The carriage/effector is designed for use with V-slot full V-wheels and threaded steel balls for magnetic arms. The spacing of the steel balls is approximately 48.15mm, while screw caps are countersunk to avoid interfering with magnetic arms. Generic LED strips with adhesive backs are used as led lights, which are wired directly into the power supply for high visibility on prints. EFFECTOR The effector can be printed in multiple parts for wider use and was designed for the E3Dv6 nozzle mount. It also works well with the Volcano hotend; however, the nozzle mount is a separate print for easy adaptation to other nozzles. Fans are secured using M3 bolts/nuts, which allows them to swivel around when needed, preventing breakage from printer failures or when printing in areas near magnetic joints. This setup also lets users adjust fan positioning according to their specific prints. The effector uses a large inductive sensor from Amazon for enhanced rigidity and power detection through the aluminum and borosilicate glass surfaces. BED MOUNT This design takes inspiration from step clamps used on CNC machines, providing excellent clearance. An aluminum sheet is mounted under a heated bed with a borosilicate glass top as part of the OpenBuilds setup, offering high-precision heating control for accurate printing results. An alternative bed mount version utilizing threaded bolts and printed thumbscrews is available in the custom.zip file for users preferring a stronger clamping force but recognizing its limitation in terms of print area due to positioning constraints related to the effector. EXTRUDER This design represents an experiment rather than an optimized solution; opting for the traditional flying extruder configuration was deemed too labor-intensive. However, it does function effectively! The extruder's primary movement relies on elastic bungee cables that provide some tension to suspend it over a stationary axis, maintaining the bowden tube in its most efficient straight state possible during majority print times. This approach significantly shortens bowden tubing length for easier cable management and reduced vibration when in use. Achieving an excellent, secure hold can take a bit of time as fitting the nozzle into the mount requires patience; however once secured there should be no wobble or vibration in place
