Delta Printer Level Base

Delta Printer Level Base

thingiverse

This item was crafted from 20mm plate steel to provide a stable surface for my large delta printers, which stand over 1.2 meters tall. The surface must remain level and consistent over time, as any flex or warp would be detrimental to print quality. In the past, I had my printers sitting on a concrete floor, which was relatively level but posed difficulties when working underneath them. When I moved the room to one with carpeted floors, I decided to elevate my printers onto a desk. However, this meant that the desk itself was not level, and I didn't want to resort to using shims throughout. The steel plate features 5 x 10mm holes drilled and tapped, strategically placed at each corner and an additional one on the middle of one side. Three bolts are used to secure the level: two on the front corners and one in the middle of the back edge. This three-legged design is the most effective way to achieve a perfectly level surface. Two additional legs on the back corners are designed to prevent rocking, and they can be lightly extended for added stability. I have cut slots into these legs so that I can use a screwdriver from above to wind them down until they make contact with the tabletop.
