Looking back, I may have inadvertently complicated a straightforward concept with good intentions. This design has been fully built and tested, and despite labeling it Mk3, I've actually created six other iterations that didn't make the cut for public viewing. Each released iteration has its merits and drawbacks; the first excelled at simplicity and strength, the second was beneficial without hardware requirements, and this version...? I recommend considering the original or Mk2 as viable alternatives, or even remixing elements from all three to suit your needs better. I've added a spring-loaded universal spigot adaptable to any central hole size. The first two versions addressed this issue with spigot inserts. If you rarely switch filaments, this is straightforward and excellent. However, each time you try new filament, you may need to create a new spigot adapter. This design necessitates some hardware for the spigot assembly: 2 elastic bands and 3 10mm M3 countersunk screws, which means it no longer earns its 100% poly rating. With this iteration, I believe there's still room for improvement, and I issue a challenge to others to enhance it. While I'd like to eliminate the screws and elastic bands, my attempts at doing so yielded poor results. Perhaps someone can find a better way to secure the spool or simplify the assembly process. There are many opportunities for imaginative builders to make improvements, but for now, I'm moving on to other projects. P.S.
