Delta Printer Effector for E3D Chimera Head
thingiverse
I designed a new effector for the HE3D DLT-180, which should also work on other models. The bolt pattern for the E3D Chimera/Cyclops head is centered on the nozzle, placing it perfectly in the middle of the effector. I measured the dimensions from the plans provided by E3D and they fit flawlessly. There's enough space to adjust the bowden tubes using an allen wrench or a thin object. Print Settings: Printer: HE3D Delta 180 Dual Head Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 50% Notes: I used Maker Geeks Raptor PLA. To enhance its structure, heat the part at 210 deg F for 10 min, which yields a higher strength than ABS and can withstand higher temperatures. I also set Sclic3r to disregard thin walls and reduced speed (accuracy is crucial for this critical component). Post-Printing: Offsets: There's no Y offset required; instead, use -8mm in X offset for the left extruder and +8mm for the right. In Repetier, these offsets are set as -800 and +800 steps in Y offset for each extruder (the HE3D DLT180 is configured with 100 steps per mm). How I Designed This: I created this effector using TinkerCad.
