Delta IV Heavy with Orion exploration flight test 1

This is a 1:100 scale model of the Delta IV Heavy rocket, featuring options for both the regular payload fairing and the first test flight of Orion. The display stand allows you to showcase your collection of rocket models alongside the launchpad. At this scale, the rocket stands approximately 72cm tall without the base. You can print the rocket in two different versions: solid and hollow. Each version comes with its own Zip file, and the hollow model features walls that are 2mm thick. Every part is designed to be printed in its corresponding color, requiring only minimal paint for the engines. If you prefer a smaller scale, such as the one shown in the pictures, simply scale down the model by 69.44%. At this size, the rocket will stand approximately 49.5cm tall without the base. Launched on December 5, 2014, at 12:05 UTC (7:05 am EST) by a Delta IV Heavy rocket from Space Launch Complex 37B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, this mission featured a high-apogee orbit and concluded with a high-energy reentry at approximately 20,000 miles per hour. This mission design was inspired by the Apollo 4 flight of 1967, which validated the Apollo flight control system and heat shield during re-entry conditions planned for lunar missions. The test flight aimed to evaluate various Orion systems, including separation events, avionics, heat shielding, parachutes, and recovery operations before its debut launch aboard the Space Launch System.
